Procedure in the event of an accident
Stay calm.
Obtain the particulars and vehicle registration numbers of all parties
involved in the accident, as well as the location, time and road
conditions. Take a photo of all damages and make a sketch of the
accident site.
In case of
injuries:
- call an
ambulance
- Do not move the
vehicle, but wait for the arrival of the police.
- PARTICULARS:
names, NRIC/passport numbers, addresses and telephone numbers of
drivers, passengers, injured pedestrians and witnesses.
- Note that
accident reports must be lodged with the police within 24 hours.
- The Original
copy of the accident report must be forwarded to our Kim Seng office
for insurance purposes as soon as possible.

other workshop without our prior authorization.

Driver's
license
- Foreigners upon
receiving their employment pass must take a theory test before they
can convert their foreign driver's license to the Singapore one.
- A maximum of 12
demerit points per year is allowed for such licenses.

Electronic
Road Pricing Scheme (ERP)
- All vehicles
entering the affected areas must use a CashCard. CashCards with the
'Sun symbol' (for heat resistance) may be purchased from local
banks, post offices and designated petrol kiosks.The minimum value
is $20.

Business District (CBD) hours
- Central

Flyover
- CTE towards the city between Braddell and Whampoa Flyovers
and after Balestier Road entry
- Fine of $70 per
entry for failure to insert CashCard or the use of a CashCard with
insufficient cash balance.

Use
of CashCard in the ERP unit
- Insert the
CashCard into the in-vehicle unit (IU) with the black strip facing
up and on the left.
- Once inserted
correctly, the IU will give a short beep. A small green light will
come on and stay on. The CashCard balance will show in the display
window for 10 seconds and then disappear.
- When the
vehicle is driven under ERP gantries, a short beep will sound. The
CashCard balance after deduction will appear.
- If there is a
continuous beep, no beep at all, 'Err' (Error) appears in the
display window or it remains blank, ensure the CashCard has been
inserted correctly.
- If the problem
persists, the IU is faulty and needs to be looked into. Contact

ERP
rates for cars
- With effect
from 1 April 1998, vehicles using the East Coast Parkway towards the
city/Jurong between Fort Road & Rochor Road and entry to ECP
from Ophir Road towards Jurong between 7.30 and 9.30 am are required
to pay a toll of $1 (7.30 to 8 am and 9 to 9.30 am) or $2 (8 to 9
am).
- CashCards for
the in-vehicle unit can be purchased at local banks, post offices
and designated petrol kiosks.
- Request for
CashCards with the 'Sun symbol' which can withstand high
temperatures without warping.

Area
Licensing Scheme
ALS (ERP Scheme to commence on 1 September 1998)
- All vehicles
entering the Central Business District (CBD) must display either a
daily or monthly area license. CBD operating hours : Weekdays 7.30
am to 7 pm Saturdays & eve of Public holidays 7.30 am to 2 pm
ALS and RPS (See below) licenses are available from : Roadside sales
booths along approach roads to the restricted zone Post offices
& designated petrol kiosks and URA office at Golden Shoe carpark
(Market Street) Daily area license is $3 for the whole day Part day
license is $2 & valid from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm Monthly area
license is $60 per month There is a fine of $70 per entry for
failure to display a valid area license.

Parking
rules
All URA and HDB
public carparks require the display of valid parking coupons near the
windscreen
Generally, white
parking lots are $0.45 per half hour
Yellow parking lots are $0.90 per half hour
Red parking lots are reserved for season parking only

Provision
of driver's particulars
The particulars
for all drivers for the rental vehicle must be forwarded to us for the
purpose of insurance coverage. Unless all relevant particulars are
provided, San's Tours & Car Rentals is not liable for any accident
claims involving the hirer and the vehicle or to third parties.

Return
of vehicles
If
you require your vehicle to be collected, call our Kim Seng office
during office hours at least 24 hours in advance. Vehicles returned at
Changi airport should be parked in parking lots in carpark C for
Terminal 2 or carpark A for Terminal 1 ($0.90 per half hour or $15 per
day).

Delivery/Collection
of vehicles are available at $15 per way.

- Rates quoted
are inclusive of the services of our chauffeur, fuel costs and
parking charges, but exclude Area License fee / ERP charges and 3%
Goods & Services Tax.
- Our
chauffeur-driven vehicles are covered for passenger liability should
they be injured while in the vehicle.
- Car phones may
be used for unlimited local calls. Overseas calls will be charged
accordingly.
- Rates are
subject to change without prior notice.
- The hirer may
pay by cash or major credit cards i.e. Visa, American
Express, MasterCard and Diners, to our driver at the end of the job
order.
